Everyone Is a Creator

This website didn’t exist until I made it. The photos on /look didn’t exist until I shot them. The deep conversations, shower playlists, and random infatuations we all have are all creations, yet we don’t consider ourselves creative for some reason.

Everyone is a Creator is the title of the first chapter of Rick Rubin’s The Creative Act. This chapter, among many recent conversations i’ve had with many really interesting people, have led me to realize that being creative isn’t a magical trait some people are born with and others aren’t. A few months ago, someone asked me if I had any creative hobbies, and I was genuinely stumped. We are all creative, this website is proof of that.

This website serves 3 main purposes (and will expand over time):

1. To host a repository of, and share the things I work on, learn, and find interesting (for future or external reference).
2. To build in public.
3. To create.

This website is living proof of me tapping into the creativity a version of myself a few months ago would never have acknowledged. Creativity is within and all around us. It’s a beautiful way to perceive the world, and yourself. You should try it.
